IMC's degree project
Spectroscopy macadamia nut classifier.
The machine was designed and built following the principles of engineering design, with the goal of being a successful implementation of a mechatronics device.
In order to identify the defective nuts, the machine uses data from a spectroscopy sensor, which is then processed by a Principal Components Analysis algorithm in conjunction with Machine Mearning
Information about the classification results are available to the users, as well as controls for starting a new cycle and resetting statistics.
People involved in the development and making of this project.
Responsible of the software, electronic and mechanical design of the project.
Managed the mechanical execution and documentation, was in charge of sourcing the components and performing the assembly.
